Girls Group
We are VERY excited to continue Girls Group!! Girls Group is a social group intended to be a safe, comfortable, and fun environment for all neurodiverse girls to visit and be themselves. Some of the things we will focus on will be friendship development, self confidence and self-advocacy skills. The girls will have a chance to engage in arts and crafts, yoga, music and dance!!
Children will learn:
- To communicate one's feelings and emotions
- To connect with peers
- Confidence in their own thoughts and feelings
- Calm down tools
- Understanding others perspective and maintaining friendships
- To acknowledge and accept other people's beliefs, ideas and emotions
Prerequisites: Kids must be able to follow multi step instructions, engage in reciprocal communication, and tolerate being around peers. Children mustn’t exhibit challenging behaviours such as bolting, hitting others, or self-injurious behaviours or require 1:1 support. The class structure will vary depending on the group. We will start with a greeting exercise and then continue with activities and games intended to introduce the topics and concepts listed above.

Date- Mondays April 8th - May 13th
Time: 4:00pm - 6:00pm Bring a snack!!
Location: Happy Oak Centre, 125 West Broadway, Vancouver.
Group size: 4-6 kids
Age: 7-10 years old
Cost: $750- as this group is designed and supervised by a BCBA you may use Autism funding.
Group Leaders: TBA- All groups have BCBA supervision in the development of goals and strategies.
